The ISA Encoder Interface type A164 is designed to allow easy interfacing of incremental encoders (rotary or linear) to any PC- compatible computer or embedded system with 8 or 16 bit ISA bus expansion slots. Each card has three 24- bit counters, taking the digital (differential or TTL level) encoder output directly. A touch probe input provides hardware latching of critical measurement signals. Scale or encoder marker pulses are also accommodated. The card requires only 16 bytes of free I/O space
