Visual
Programming for CMMs
The
Visual Programming module provides a quick and convenient
way of creating CNC measuring programs visually. Programs
are created in learn mode, off-line or directly from the CAD drawing.
One of the benefits of Visual Programming is that the program
can be fully developed and tested for its functionality in a simulation
using a 'dry run'
mode. Programs can be run either in full or in parts from user
selected convenient start points. With the addition of multiple
breakpoints, execution can be started, continued or stopped from
any convenient part in the Program.
Using the function of a CNC Program Editor, the user creates a
program by 'drawing' it onto a form. An extensive library of CNC
feature measurement routines is provided for shapes and configurations
such as lines, circles, arches, planes, cones, spheres and cylinders
etc. Where
necessary, the CNC Program Editor together with the Variable Manager
function enables the user to write or create their own standard
measuring sequences. Properties are set for each command to specify
such values as speed, probe type, position etc. For scanning/reverse
engineering applications, there is a facility for self adaptive
template scanning routines which can be easily adopted for specific
user requirements
