Graphical Measurements on CMMs The Axel Foundation Program is the main program for geometrical measurements. It also comprises the basic package for the entire range of the Axel applications and other software and uses the latest and most innovative in software engineering technology. The Foundation Program is Axel's main screen a user starts the operation from. From this initial point the user can access all the features of the program. The Program has the capability to measure any type of shapes including spheres, cones, cylinders or flat surfaces or a combination of any of them. It can be used in stand-alone applications or in combination with any of the other Axel range of programs to provide additional enhanced features and benefits. It is particularly adapted for use for manual CMM machines. It also contains manual measurement module with geometrical data processing algorithms.

Below is a short list of some of the features and benefits available to you when using the Axel Foundation.

	Graphical Display with Solid model The Measure Window provides a graphical view into the measuring volume of the CMM machine. The components can be viewed in wireframe mode or as a solid model. Results boxes and/or component dimensions can be displayed at particular parts or sections of the model. Different perspectives of the model can be displayed on various pages of the measure window either using predetermined standard views or alternatively user defined views. Viewpoint Manager with zoom options The model in the Measure Window is manipulated by the means of ViewPoint Manager with various zoom options. Layers System Axel allows multiple set of layers for CAD, Features and CNC programs.

	Multiple Measure Window Part Views Multiple Measure WIndows View may be defined to show the part under different projections. The simple selection on the Measure Window View Tab changes the view. This is one of the many features utilized to greatly save the valuable workspace of the program. Password protection Part of the program are protected by the password. There are multiple password levels: supervisor and user. Each user may have assigned various privileges to allow access parts of the program.

	Common User Interface All program modules - foundation, cnc, pipe and surface - are sharing the same familiar user interface. In fact there is only one program with all the features working together. The toolbars are dockable or can be part of the *New !* 'tabbed button' arrangement greatly saving space inside the worktop. New ! 3D Probe Models Realistic 3D probe models are shown in the Measure Window. Model Setup dialog box is provided for creating a probe model based on the extensive data base of available probe products.

	2D and 3D standard function Set of 2D and 3D geometrical features such as point, circle, line, cylinder, cone, sphere, gauge diameter is provided. Algorithms tested with PTB and NPL standard data sets. Intelligent Constructions Axel allows to calculate construction virtually by type of feature. Program automatically selects which result to calculate for each construction. For example their is only one intersection which can be applied top any types of features. Alignment Features Set of 2D and 3D geometrical features such as point, circle, line, cylinder, cone, sphere, gauge diameter is provided. Algorithms tested with PTB and NPL standard data sets. Full Geometrical Tolerancing Set of 2D and 3D geometrical features such as point, circle, line, cylinder, cone, sphere, gauge diameter is provided. Algorithms tested with PTB and NPL standard data sets. Unlimited number of points per feature Set of 2D and 3D geometrical features such as point, circle, line, cylinder, cone, sphere, gauge diameter is provided. Algorithms tested with PTB and NPL standard data sets Reverse Engineering Set feature is provided as standard for performing part scanning. Part may be digitized at equal time or distance intervals.

	Reporting Variety of reporting is provided. Graphical boxes or dimensions shown in the Measure Window, standard text report with form definition, user defined graphical report, HTML and Excel reporting with user templates. Result Boxes and Dimensions Graphical boxes and dimensions can be assigned to features in the Measure Window thus providing the ultimate measurement report. Report Generator The *Axel Report* enables to visually design quality inspection reports that contain text, graphics and multiple part views. Inspection notes may be attached to the report. Typical template reports may be designed and saved for future use. Excel and HTML documents Reports may be exported to HTML and Excel spreadsheet. Templates may be designed by the user. We provide comprehensive set of predefined templates to show the results in the Excel or HTML.
