Integrated Measuring Environment |
Axel
for Windows provides fully integrated measuring
environment. All geometrical, surface and
pipe measurements
are made from within uniform user interface. All programs
have a standard user operator interface throughout,
possess identical icons with standard features as
well as a standard initial screen presentation which
can be changed or varied at the operator's convenience.
|
 |
 |
MultiProbe Support |
Support
for both contact (touch probe)
and non-contact (laser, video) probes, discrete (one-point) and scanning
probes. |
 |
 |
User
Interface |
Easy interface with multiple windows: Measure
Window, Feature List, Results Window, DRO and customizable toolbars.
All Axel program have been created specifically to aid
operators by maximizing user friendliness. All the programs
have a standard user operator interface throughout,
possess identical icons with standard features as well
as a standard initial screen presentation which can
be changed or varied at the operator's convenience.
Once an Axel Program is learnt, the uniform features,
which are maintained throughout the entire range of
Axel Programs, minimizes the need for additional training.

Alignment functions |
AXEL
provides the most comprehensive range of alignment
features and options that allows the user to deal
with the extremely complex and demanding applications.
Standard geometric alignment - plane, line and origin,
best fit 3 point alignment, Best
Fit Multipoint,
Multientity alignment, Partial
Nominal Fit, RPS
Alignment - Locking Best Fit Axes and hardware
datum. Program performs a 3D best fit of measured
data to CAD surfaces. |
 |
 |
Geometrical
features |
Set
of 3D geometrical features such as point, circle,
line, cylinder, cone, sphere. |
 |
 |
Intelligent Constructions
|
Axel
allows to calculate construction virtually by type of
feature. Program automatically selects which result
to calculate for each construction. For example there
is only one intersection which can be applied top any
types of features. |
 |
 |
Reporting |
Variety of reporting is provided. Graphical boxes
or dimensions shown in the Measure Window, standard
text report, user defined graphical report, HTML and
Excel reporting with user templates. |
 |
 |
Multilangage
support |
Software
user interface is currently available in the
following languages: English, Polish,
Chinese, German, French, Korean and Swedish. |
 |
 |
Feature
List |
Feature
List is the window where the sequence of measured features
is recorded. It is saved and subsequently used in repetitive
part measurements. |

Graphical Display with Solid model |
The Measure Window provides a graphical view into
the measuring volume of the CMM machine. The components
can be viewed in wireframe mode or as a solid model.
Results boxes and/or component dimensions can be displayed
at particular parts or sections of the model. Different
perspectives of the model can be displayed on various
pages of the measure window either using predetermined
standard views or alternatively user defined views. |
 |
 |
Viewpoint
Manager with unique mouse rotation mode |
The solid model in the Measure Window is manipulated
by the means of ViewPoint Manager. Additionally unique
mouse rotation mode allows easy and intuitive rotation
and zoom of the CAD solid part. Different perspectives
of the model can be displayed on various pages of the
measure window either using predetermined standard views
or alternatively user defined views. |
 |
 |
Graphcs menu options |
Multiple display layers - CAD, Programs and Measurements.
|
 |
 |
3D
Probe Model |
Axel program includes the 3D library of contact
probes. The probe used on the machine is then build
into the machine model to allow accurate machine
representation. |

Axel
Wizard |
The
Axel Pipe Wizard is one of the most innovative and modern
products from the Axel range. The Pipe Wizard can be
used to design or create pipes by creating a master
template of a particular pipe by the user inputting
various points designating the bends. In addition, the
user can also inspect pipes against nominal data or
templates to ensure conformity. The Axel Pipe Wizard
will accept nominal data templates in the form of numerical
data or CAD models.
|
 |
 |
New
pipe design feature |
One of pipe application is the design of the new
pipe. After defining pipe points, pipe wizard will
automatically create the pipe of given specification,
passing via those points. The newly created pipe
can be set as the template/nominal pipe for future
inspections. The measuring sequence for the pipe
as well as ipe bender interface are available for
making the pipe. |
 |
 |
Inspection
against nominal model |
The Pipe may be inspected against its nominal
model. The nominal model is created by entering its
XYZ.YBC data, directly from the CAD model or by design.
The measured pipe is best fitted into its nominal
model and deviations are reported. |
 |
 |
CAD
interfaces |
Pipe nominal data may be extracted from the
CAD model if available. Interfaces to various CAD
formats are provided. They include DXF, IGES, CATIA
v4 and v5, ProEngineer, STEP, VDA. |
 |
 |
Bender
interfaces |
Axel can download data to the pipe benders either
via serial link or a network. The pipe nominals ca
be downloaded at any time and the deviations can
be downloaded once the pipe/tube has been measured.
|
 |
 |
Bracket
measurements
|
Number of brackets and their nominal
positions can be defined in Pipe Wizard. The Pipe
measuring sequence will automatically include bracket
inspection. Bracket point may also be included while
best - fitting the measured pipe to its nominal model. |
 |
 |
Pipe
results reporting |
Pipe wizard generates the pipe-specific report.
The report lists pipe nominal data, the measured
pipe results and also deviations from its nominal
model if available. In addition all Axel standard
reporting is available. Graphical boxes or
dimensions shown in the Measure Window, standard
text report, user defined graphical report, HTML
and Excel reporting with user templates. |

Off-Line
programming |
The
Visual Programming module provides a quick and convenient
way of creating CNC measuring programs visually. Programs
can be created in learn mode, off-line or directly from
the CAD drawing. One of the benefits of this Product
is that the program can be fully developed and tested
for its functionality in a simulation using a 'dry run'
mode. Programs can be run either in full or in parts
from user selected convenient start points. With the
addition of multiple breakpoints, execution can be started,
continued or stopped from any convenient part in the
Program. |
 |
 |
CNC
Program Editor |
Using
the function of a CNC Program Editor, the user creates
a program by 'drawing' it onto a form. An extensive
library of CNC feature measurement routines is provided
for shapes and configurations such as lines, circles,
arches, planes, cones, spheres and cylinders etc. |
 |
 |
Library
of standard feature programs |
An
extensive library of CNC feature measurement routines
is provided for shapes and configurations such as
lines, circles, arches, planes, cones, spheres and
cylinders etc. For scanning/reverse engineering applications,
there is a facility for self adaptive template scanning
routines which can be easily adopted for specific
user requirements. The
programs are also probe specific for example line
program is provided for both touch probe as well
as for a non-contact probe. Using programming facilities
new subprograms may be added to the existing library. |
 |
 |
Full
programming facilities |
A free standing part is aligned by measuring its
geometrical or surface features. The extensive set
of programming commands with program variables manager
makes its possible to create off-line job specific,
general use subprograms. For scanning/reverse engineering
applications, there is a facility for self adaptive
template scanning routines which can be easily adopted
for specific user requirements. The Program performs
a 3D best fit of measured data to CAD surfaces. AXEL
provides the most comprehensive range of alignment
features and options that allows the user to deal
with the extremely complex and demanding applications. |
 |
 |
Dry
run for off line simulation and testing |
One
of the benefits of this Product is that the program
can be fully developed and tested for its functionality
in a simulation using a 'dry run' mode.
Programs can be run either in full or partially
from user selected convenient start points. With
the addition of multiple breakpoints, execution
can be started, continued or stopped from any convenient
part in the Program. |
 |
 |
Program
Variables Manager
|
Some applications may require a special measuring
sequences to be developed. The Axel program can use
variables and mathematical expressions in order to
create job specific sequences. The Program Variables
Manager, makes the job of maintaining program variables
easy. |
